That Item AHA 2020-009, dated January 17, 2020, regarding a Motion to the Federation of Canadian Municipalities regarding the National Building Code, be received; and That the Federation of Canadian Municipalities consider requesting that the National Building Code be modified to consider alternate build code requirement/standards to help address the affordable housing crisis. Such code changes should take into consideration variation of climate in Canada from region to region and the health and safety and well being of residents. It is the general intent and purpose that such changes would help generate increased affordable housing options for Canadians.
